McAllen-Hidalgo and Anzalduas International Bridge has been using TRMI toll systems for over 20 years. McAllen contracted in 2017 to perform another upgrade their toll system using TRMI’s Sentinel based TCS with capabilities for full system reporting, real-time system monitoring and an online account system for patrons. The McAllen TCS consists of vehicle and pedestrian lanes at two distinct plaza locations, Automatic Vehicle Classification and Identification through RFID and proximity readers, account and toll pass management with multiple toll pass device types, and online account management with replenishments. The upgrade includes new hardware and Sentinel TCS software introducing both 6C-TOC RFID sticker tags and proximity card payment methods in a total of 14 vehicle lanes, including a dedicated AVI only truck lane and a separate charter and taxi lane. The system also hosts three pedestrian lane equipped with one handicap turnstile.

The client’s existing system was replaced with the new and upgraded system, resulting in a seamless transfer with no delays in traffic. All 15 vehicle lanes and four pedestrian lanes are maintained to date with routine maintenance services as well as emergency response maintenance, through our subcontractor EZ Cloud Systems LLC, coordinated and facilitated by TRMI support staff.
